Silicon Keyboard
Day before yesterday i visited KEEF exibition held at Expo Center Karachi and got a good deal on a Silicon Keyboard for only Rs. 400/- or less than USD 7.00 , the keyboard is great , USB connectivity works like a charm with my Inspiron 6000 and above all is child proof , my 4 yrs old and 1 yr old can drool , spill , drop , sit , jump and do whatever they like with the keyboard and till now nothing has happened to it
Techaholic
Yup I admit I’m a ‘Techaholic’ and I’m proud of it , the photos speak the truth , they show my addiction , my allegiance to all things tech and also my wife’s hatred of them
The things which i currently own are
The Casio fx – 4500 P calculator the one I bought in 1992 for Rs.800 in 11th grade ( a very big amount then) and even after a decade it never failed me and remained by my side through my college and now my work
The I-Mate Pocket Pc AKA Himalaya , my once most cherished possesion the thing helped me a lot with all the drug info i can store in it , its syncing my contacts immediately , currenlty its on standby due to screwed up firmware upgrade but i’m still working on it P.S as pf yesterday i also broke its cradle currenlty i’m only using it for my Ufone SIM
The Nokia 8910i , titanium body , not a workhorse but makes a statement currenlty having my Telenor SIM
The Nokia E61 my latest acquisition , I will talk about it in a later post but with WIFI , Quad band , GSM / GPRS / 3 g ( not aavailable in Pakistan ) and 2 gb mini SD its a beauty , currenlty running Mobilink ( unlimited free GPRS )
The Nokia 7610 , a foolish purchase from my side none the less taking care of my Warid SIM
The pixel View Mobile Play TV , some time i need some entertainment ( i have cable tv wire in my office room courtesy of IT dept who use the same Satcomm cable for Internet ) the thing is small but a swiss army knief of entetainment with inputs for DVD and VCR , FM , on the air and cable TV its a must acccesory for any laptop @ only Rs. 4000/- it has served me for a year
My blue tooth(s) the SE bluetooth head set a pain to put it on so i use it with my laptop as a handsfree headset and mic and a Nokia BH 800 is a piece of beauty and discretion while driving the car
the Kingston U3 1gb with more U3 enabled software than data helps me in my travelling
The piece of chip with a USB is my bluetooth dongle , i took the casing out to give it a more tech look , half the people in my office think its the pass key for my laptop
The A4 Tech retractable mouse , the thing will save me from CArpal Tunnel syndrome beside it works on the glass surface of my table
The USB light an impulse purchase nonetheless helps me working in the night when wife and kids are sleeping
My laptop (not shown ) a one year old DELL Inspiron 6000 workhorse , 1.6 ghz Centrino Dothan processor , 1256mb ram , 80gb hard disk , 64 mb dedicated VRAM , DVD writer ,9 cell battery ( 3 hrs backup ) saved my ass many times due to its speed and portablility .
My XPOD ( not iPOD ) mp4 player , the chinese made XPOD is good for keeping the kids busy with 1gb ram , it can hold 6 Tom and Jerry cartoons , complete ICE AGE , MULAN , LION KING I and II , 2 BOB the Builder full length movies and 80 MP3’s combined with my Z-Cyber FM transmitter its good for long haul driving with the kids
The Next Base DVD player with screen a gift from a friend for my car , the thing can play DVD , JPEG , DIVX , VCD , MP3 etc etc , has a battery back up of 2 hrs , gets power from the car 12 V outlet , even catched live tv in the car and has input for cable tv in the house with attachments good for 3 cars
My trusty HP 3015 laserjet Printet , FAx, copier , scanner a true workhouse
My Linksys wrt54gL WIFI router 2 yrs old , heavily firmware modded ( 3rd party downloads ) and works like a charm
My future plans are to get a Sony Bravia ( way too expensive for me now ) which I will connect with some old dell P4 i can get from Cambridge shopping mall couples with Wireless mouse and keyboard with wifi i can have my own Mediacenter at home
A nintendo WII , it will be out in a few days and given the price idea i can buy it
